Sometimes, circumstances and commitments at work and home make it impossible for some individuals to have their own bees. A worthwhile alternative is to acquire annual shares in a beehive at Anglesey Bees for a year. You get two visits to the bees and a share of the honey and a discount on courses and experiences.

Our Plan Bee provides a unique opportunity to buy a small share in a beehive's performance for a year, just like buying shares in a race horse for one year for a one-off payment. The share of the cost of managing the hive is included in the up-front fee and, like shares in a race horse, you are entitled to a share of the winnings, or in the case of the bees, a share of the honey produced that year. In addition you will be invited to visit your adopted hive twice a year to accompany us  to undertake inspections and seasonal management tasks.

What are you entitled to as a share-holder?

• An share-holder's pack including a share certificate and photos of your hive and bees.

•   A share-holder’s newsletter by email with seasonal updates on progress and management of your hive.

•  A share of the annual honey harvest in line with the percentage of your shares.

•  An opportunity to meet the bees twice per year and accompany us as we undertake inspections or seasonal management tasks.

•  Reduction on the cost of attending a beekeeping experience or training course, in line with the percentage of your share. 

Costs

• Number of shares per hive = 20
• Total capital value (hives & bees) = £600
• Total annual consumable costs  = £100 

  feeding (£20), varroa control (£8), honey jars (£50), labels (£5), honey processing (£17)

• Capital cost per share = £30
• Annual consumable costs per share = £5   
• Management fee per share = £25

TOTAL PRICE PER SHARE = £60.00

Terms and conditions

• Maximum number of annual shares per hive = 20
• The share price is for one whole share.
• Shares are in the name of one person and are non-transferrable.
• Gift shares can be bought for another name.
• Shares can be bought at any time of the year.
• Shares expire 12 months from purchase.
• There is an option to renew shares at the end of 12 Months.
• Purchase of annual shares do not confer any rights of ownership of the hives and bees nor their management.
• Honey can be collected from us or we can send it by post/courier at your cost.

How to apply for Plan Bee shares

It's simple and easy. Just complete and submit the Plan Bee Shares Request form below and pay by online banking or by card over the phone. As soon as payment is received, we will contact you by email to confirm your purchase.

Unless you instruct us differently, initial correspondence will be sent to your email address, so that you can present it as a gift to the shareholder if you wish. If the shares are intended as a gift and you include a different shareholder's email address, subsequent  shareholders' newsletters with seasonal updates will be emailed directly to the shareholder.
